At emocha our mission is to revolutionize mobile health. A Baltimore-based startup with lots of momentum, we strive to solve public health problems with technology. emocha builds a platform of mobile and web-based applications used in the US and abroad, which means a wide variety of work day-to-day. Our team is constantly taking on challenging and exciting problems, with the goal of making a serious impact on the lives of clinicians and patients. We work with world-renowned clinicians and scientists to help the patients that need the most help. Our focus is on patients with infectious and chronic diseases/conditions such as tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis C, opioid addiction/substance abuse, and mental health.
emocha is a startup motivated by delivering high-quality products. We have a multi-disciplinary team of designers, engineers, and business professionals. We also have access to Johns Hopkins and other academic medical centers and experts who pilot our technology and assist in development.
Your typical day at emocha: a team meeting in the morning to discuss the plan for the day and any recent problems to work through, interaction with your fellow engineers as you work through technical design and implementation (aka actual coding), and meetings with our designers and project managers to improve existing products or define new ones.
Technically, your work will include implementing frontend user interfaces (look and feel + behavior) based on wireframes / mockups, connecting those interfaces to backend services via REST APIs, and developing and maintaining API interfaces and database schemas.
